Here are the main lines of research followed by the DEAL Group within the theoretical framework of the Language Teaching Accessibility Theory (see Daloiso, 2017: Oxford University Press).
- Epistemological and ethical issues in language education of pupils with Specific Linguistic Needs.
- Applications of Cognitive Linguistics to the study of Specific Linguistic Needs.
- Language teaching methodologies to promote inclusion and innovation in the language classroom.
- Individualized teaching interventions to support learners with Specific Linguistic Needs.
- Inclusive language education (i.e. development of cross-curricular linguistic and cognitive skills which can be transferred to the learning of any language, be it native, foreign, ancient).
- Inclusive methodologies for foreign language teaching (particularly, English, Spanish and Italian) at all school levels – primary, secondary, higher education.
- English as a Foreign Language, with particular reference to methodologies for fostering phonological and orthographic awareness at an early age.
Research results are reported in the following scientific and educational publications.
